Privacy Policy for BibleTales

1. Who We Are
BibleTales LLC operates bibletales.org, the BibleTales online store, and the BibleTales Reader application. We create and deliver illustrated Bible story resources for families.
2. Information We Collect
Store and purchase information: Your name, email address, order and product identifiers, and transaction, refund, or dispute status. Stripe processes payment-card information. BibleTales does not receive or store your full card number.
Reader account information: You can explore and use previews without creating a Reader account. If you create an account, we collect your email address, an optional user name, password and account-verification information. We store passwords as hashes, not as readable text.
Reader service information: The Reader sends an installation identifier and information needed to register devices, check access, and deliver protected books and audio. This can include device labels, app versions, requested content identifiers, service activity and last-seen information. Installation records can exist even when you are not signed in. Account records also include your active book access rights.
Support and feedback: If you contact us through the Reader, we receive your support message and the technical or reading context included with that request, such as app version, operating system, book, language, chapter or page. We use this to respond and investigate problems.
Routine reading progress, preferences and app logs remain on your device unless information is included in a support request. Downloaded books and audio are stored on your device. Downloading our books and audio does not upload your personal documents, photos or recordings.
3. How We Use Information
- Process orders, deliver purchases, and restore purchased books.
- Create and secure Reader accounts and verify control of a purchasing email address.
- Maintain book access, deliver package updates, and operate protected-content services.
- Handle refunds, payment disputes, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations.
- Respond to support requests and feedback, and investigate technical problems.
4. Account Deletion and Purchase Records
You can delete your BibleTales Reader account from the Account page in the app, or visit Delete your Reader account without the app. In the app, confirm with your password. On the website, enter your account email address, request a verification code, and enter the emailed code before confirming permanent deletion. Requesting a code alone does not delete your account.
When deletion completes, we remove your Reader sign-in and profile, registered account devices, account feedback conversations, active Reader access rights, and account-linked verification records from our account database. You can no longer sign in to the deleted account.
We retain limited purchase and license records to support eligible purchase restoration, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention, and accounting or legal needs. These records include a keyed, pseudonymous identifier derived from the purchasing email, book and purchase references, transaction status and timestamps. They do not store the purchasing email in plain text in the retained license record and cannot be used to sign in. Pseudonymous does not mean anonymous: the identifier can be matched when the same purchasing email is used again. If you later create an account and verify that email, eligible purchases can be restored. Refunded or otherwise revoked purchases are not restored as active access.
We do not currently apply a fixed automatic expiry period to these retained license records. Account deletion does not itself remove separate website or payment transaction records, account-independent Reader installation records, provider delivery or security records, provider backups, or files already on your devices. Webflow and Stripe may retain commerce and payment records under their own policies and legal obligations.
Downloaded books and audio may remain until you remove them in the app or uninstall it. Contact support@bibletales.org for privacy or deletion assistance, including questions about retained information.
5. Service Providers and Sharing
BibleTales does not sell personal information. We use the following services to operate our website, store and Reader:
- Webflow: Website hosting, commerce and order processing.
- Stripe: Payment processing and related transaction records.
- Cloudflare: Reader API hosting, database and content services, and security.
- Resend: Delivery of transactional account emails, including verification, password recovery, deletion verification and deletion confirmation. This involves the recipient email address, message content and delivery records.
- Apple and Google: App distribution and related store services. Their handling of information through their stores is governed by their own policies.
These services receive information relevant to their roles. Their applicable terms and privacy policies describe service operation, security, legal obligations and any separately determined processing. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, enforce our rights, or address fraud and security.
6. Retention and Security
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including support, accounting, refund, dispute, fraud-prevention, and legal requirements. We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we process, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Verification codes for website account deletion expire after 15 minutes. Expiry prevents use of the code; it does not guarantee that every expired verification or abuse-prevention record is physically erased at that moment. Expired website deletion-code and rate-limit records are eligible for limited cleanup when later valid deletion-code requests are processed; this does not guarantee a fixed removal time. Successful account deletion removes its account-linked verification records as described above.
Hosting, email-delivery, security and backup records have separate retention and deletion processes. Deleting the Reader account does not immediately erase every provider copy. Contact support@bibletales.org for questions or requests concerning retained information.
7. Children and Families
BibleTales is designed for families. Account creation and purchases are intended to be managed by a parent, guardian, or other authorized adult. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and address it.
8. Your Choices
You may access the Privacy Policy in the app or on our website. You may request account deletion in the Reader or at www.bibletales.org/delete-account. For privacy questions, access or correction requests, deletion assistance, or concerns about retained information, email support@bibletales.org. Some purchase, security or other records may be retained for the purposes described above.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as BibleTales services or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
