BibleTales Christmas First: John tells the hope-filled story of a long-awaited child whose birth brought joy to a family and wonder to an entire community.

At last, Elizabeth and Zechariah held the son God had promised. When relatives and neighbors gathered to name him, Elizabeth spoke with quiet courage: he would be called John. Then Zechariah wrote the same name on a little tablet—and his long silence ended in praise. Filled with the Holy Spirit, he blessed God and spoke tenderly of his son’s calling: to prepare the way for the Lord. From the joy of John’s birth to his quiet preparation in the wilderness, the story reveals God’s gracious care and perfect timing.

Told in gentle, poetic language and framed by the warm voice of a grandmother reading to her grandchildren, this richly illustrated book brings Scripture, history, and devotion together in an inviting family story. Its moments of discovery and thoughtful conversation are made to be shared at bedtime, in classrooms, and in churches.

Part of the Christmas First series, John invites readers to celebrate answered prayer, listen for God’s calling, and discover how a life quietly prepared can help others find the way to Jesus.
